What we collect

To create your song we process: the short video you upload, your email address, and the details you provide (child's first name, age, optional birthday, language, style, and any notes). Payment is handled by our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy); we never see your full card details.

How we use your video

Your video is used only to generate your song — frames are analyzed to write personalized lyrics. We do not use your video or any uploaded content to train AI models, and we do not sell or share it. Generation uses trusted third-party AI providers solely to fulfill your order.

Children's data

Vid2Song is purchased by adults. By placing an order you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian of the child in the video and consent to processing it to create the song. We collect only what's needed to make the song.

Retention

Uploaded videos are automatically deleted within 30 days. Your finished song and order record are kept so you can re-download them. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see below).

What the app collects and how

You give us: the video clip you pick from your Photos (uploaded only when you tap Make the song), and the name, how it is said, occasion, memory, song style and language you type or choose. The app creates: an anonymous account id and a device id on first launch, a push notification token if you allow notifications, and a record of your purchases. If you use Sign in with Apple, we also receive your Apple user id and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address.

How the app uses your data

Only to make your song, deliver it to you, let you replay and share it, keep track of your song credits, tell you when a song is ready, and keep your songs across devices if you sign in. We do not use your data for advertising or tracking, and we do not sell it.

Your permission before anything is sent to AI services

Before your first clip is sent, the app shows which AI services receive which data and asks for your permission. If you decline, nothing is sent and no song is made. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings, under AI partners; the app then asks again before your next song.

Who processes your data in the app

To make your song we share the minimum with these providers, each only for the purpose named: Anthropic (still frames from your clip, and the name, pronunciation, occasion and memory you type, to describe the clip and write the lyrics); Suno, through the sunoapi.org service (the lyrics, which include the name, your chosen style and a song title, to sing the song; Suno never receives your clip); RevenueCat (purchase records and your app user id, to keep track of song credits); Apple (in-app purchases and, if you use it, your Sign in with Apple identity); Expo's push service (your push token and device locale, to tell you when a song is ready); and our hosting and storage providers Vercel, Railway and Cloudflare (to run the service and hold your files). The sound of your clip is not sent to any AI service. Anthropic does not train its models on content sent through its commercial API, and we do not use your content to train AI models. We share data only with providers that are bound to keep it confidential and to protect it at least as well as this policy does.

Retention in the app

Your source clip and the frames taken from it are deleted as soon as the song is finished. If an order fails or is held for review, the clip is deleted within 30 days. Finished songs, previews and the shareable video stay in your library until you delete them or your account.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Settings inside the app. This removes your songs, clips, credits record, devices and Apple link, and revokes Apple's sign-in for the app. Purchases already made are handled by Apple and cannot be reversed by deleting your account. So the one free preview cannot be claimed again by deleting and re-creating an account, we keep a one-way fingerprint (a hash) of the app install and, if you signed in, of your Apple ID, after it is used. It cannot be turned back into either, and it is not linked to your songs or any other data.
